1000M of SEBRING – 6th Round of the WEC 2018-2019
Final Classification in LMP2 – 6th
I leave Sebring with a bittersweet feeling for my first time on this unusual circuit.
We have shown a super pace from the Free Practices, then a pole acquired dominantly. The team provided us an incredible car that allowed us, with Gabriel, to realize our 2nd pole of the year. And with a nice gap of 6/10 of a Second on the average of our 2 best laps! I am proud to have achieved the best LMP2 laptime, the first time for me in WEC for my fifth attempt.
But 5 minutes into the race that counts 8 hours, an electrical problem delayed us several times… until finally losing 28 laps, an obviously irretrievable gap. Then throughout the race, we have showed a pace that would have allowed us to fight with the #37, for the victory… but we finished penultimate as Duval crashed in the last 10 mins otherwise we were last. As we say, we must not look back! There are 2 races left and we are 2 points off from Alpine, everything remains possible!
